Can't sleep

Once again I find myself sitting in front of the computer shortly after trying to go to sleep. Why is this you ask? It is because my mind starts to race as soon as my head hits the pillow. I can think of a gazillion things just laying there and each one keeps me awake. I have tried several different methods to try to fall asleep and none have worked save staying up until I get so tired it is impossible to stay awake any longer. Before you say anything I have tried warm milk, a journal, mundane tasks like solitaire, sleeping pills (those aggravate the restless leg syndrome), and even alcohol (surprising I know). I have not yet tried meditation, and i'll probably give that a shot sooner or later.

You're probably wondering what the root cause is. Well at any given point in my life I have several things going on (who doesn't right?). At the moment I have school, the baby, wife, work, chores, and the biggest one, the move. The move involves packing, cleaning, and transferring utilities. Your probably thinking isn't this a journal? And will it work? Probably not, but what the heck, might as well share whats going on.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas on what I can do, please feel free to pass along any tips.

  1. I've given up on sleeping and just tried to make the most of insomnia. Get those extra dishes washed and eat another piece of cake!
